Course D: Use of JSI test facilities (ISM/TVWS outdoor)

[<< Back to Training Days overview]

Abstract

The in-depth course on the LOG-a-TEC testbed will build upon the basic course, depending on the specific interests of course participants. Installation of Python libraries necessary for communication with the testbed will be demonstrated. Participants will be able to try out more advanced examples using the testbed components remotely from their computers, either through a web interface or by running scripts on their own computers. We will discuss the limitations of the sensor network infrastructure, how it affects the design of experiments and the possibility of running native applications on nodes for experiments that have tighter latency and throughput requirements. We will compare the reconfigurable radios used in the testbed with software-defined radio architectures that can be found in most other cognitive radio testbeds.
